The Sale-a-thon was in the back of mind from the moment we created the game. It was in my body and I could feel it. But I didn't focus on it until Friday AM.

I had already told myself the story that I would get there about 12:30 and warm up with some Pre-sales (wtf was that all about). I had to go to the bank so I was running behind. I was in downtown Monterey in this old "huge" bank (with no one in it) and I looked down the long lobby and up high on the wall was the clock...12:53. Oh shit, 7 minutes to kickoff.
I had a flash in my mind of Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future. Gotta get to the courthouse before its too late. Doc's counting on me!!
Walked smartly to my fishing hole. Really felt alive knowing that the Team was in place.
Holy Good Friday Batman...the place was overrun by tourists. Humongous hordes of familes, little kids, old folks.
Talked to one lady who has self-published 5 books...where did he get it printed. Let me look at that...no thanks.
Worked on smoothing out the pitch. Requesting the sale. Eyes up and visualize.
One lady said you had to be a natural born salesperson to sell. Then launched into how good she was. Sheesh.
Finally found a god person. Told me how she was the jesus in her family...husband and 2 teenage boys. Now THEY needed god. I'd buy one but no money honey.

Thanks tracey and Harmon this was awesome. Much different energy when you a connected with others selling at the same time. Did you feel the earth shift, or was that the San Andreas Fault.

I enjoy your posts. I find you a wonderful storyteller. I vividly experience what you describe. There is a lot of power (energy?) in your descriptions.
I would like to see you write a story describing selling 3 books with only 6 presentations. I could then use it as a model for my sales process.
